ADVENT laptop BIOS password help?

I followed the resolution of problems within the guys Tech manual after shutdown and holding the button for 10 seconds, the damn has developed a BIOS password. The screen lights up, Windows starts and comes with a password BIOS request. I talked to the guy who told me he has the technology to make your PC world cos of security, but following his guidance has allowed the application Gona password and it cost me £ 200 to repair! somethings definitely wrong with this system? Remove the CMOS battery and put a piece of wire or metal between the contacts of the battery. This will remove the BIOS password stored.
